This wandered a bit before it got down to the meat of the book. The first part of the book continues the world building, back story and character development. There is tension but it is not as focused as it becomes when they go after nimbus. I enjoyed visiting Crossways and seeing the characters again. This does come to a interesting conclusion; the problems are solved, the bad guy is taken care of, the characters are in a good place and all seems well in the world. I'm really loving this series. This book provides a great ending to the saga of Ben and Cara. It's got better writing and flow than the first two books, and I love the way the story develops. Definitely recommend this as one to read with a beer in front of the fire. (Or on the beach, or in an airport, or where ever you do your binge reading)

Maybe it's because I read this book immediately after Provenance, but this third instalment of the Psi-Tech series felt very pedestrian. I didn't remember it feeling this way in the first two - I had been drawn in by the high-stakes plot and engrossing characters (despite their alliterative names) - and so I feel let down.This book was 50% too long, for starters.
