When my book club chose this book for this month's selection I wasn't sure what to expect but found this was a thoroughly enjoyable book. I liked the characters and found myself rooting for them. Being from the Boston area it was fun to see the local references the author included. The author's bio says she's originally from Wales and it was interesting to see how she wove the mythological tales from her youth in with modern day teenage life in the US. The characters were believable and relatabl [...]

i do not normally read ya books but did this as a favor for a busy mom- it got a hell yes- the story line took us to a magical faraway land as well as here on earth - our heroine mia has dreams and visions of somewhere else - which she thinks are imaginary - that is until ryder shows up at school and he is part of the dreams she has been having= throw in a an ancient promise invoked- magic - love and a villian named grayson - who has been causing all sorts of things to happen behind the scenes a [...]

This was a wonderful story by Jennifer Davies. Mia is very powerful and magical. She has visions and has an overwhelming need to help those in trouble. Along with the need to help, she is betrothed to Ryder and has made a promise to him. Trouble brews in their home land of Annwn and on the human world. To help Mia and Ryder must become human and live in the mortal world, were they deal with a number of challenges. I feel like Ryder has the most, poor guy. Of course there is always a bad guy and [...]

A magical story of sweet heartwarming romance.Jennifer Owen Davies writes descriptively allowing you to fall into a world of make believe. It made me curl up in my chair and turn each page in anticipation of what was going to happen next. At the last page I closed my eyes and breathed in deeply happy that I had the experience of reading this book. Not a genre that I normally read but it won't be my lastCan't wait for the next book to come! Congratulations, Jennifer!

I really enjoyed this book. I love the discovery of Mia's past and her abilities. She is a strong character and really has a voice. What I also like is that she is not perfect and makes mistakes, she is trying to do what she thinks is the right thing in a hard situation and I like that she makes choices that are not always the best, I want the character to have those human flaws that we all struggle with! I am looking forward to book 2 by Jennifer!

A beautiful story of love and magic. I started reading this a while ago because it was gifted to me by the author, and i lost it on my laptop! I just found it and finished it! mia and ryder are great characters! the story is well written and has a great setting and plot. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars was because I save 5 stars for books I literally cannot put down lol.

Finally finished this; some of the angst and the issues between Mia/Ryder/Greyson grew tiresome after a while, but I was happy I finished it.
