Winter Letters (Amish Snowflakes #1) Reviews

Second book by this author that I've read. I wasn't too keen on the first one I read, but the end of that book said that she had new proofreaders and editors. Didn't make a difference. This author is all over the place with story lines. There's information you don't really need tossed in, and information you're wondering about is left out. Apparently this was book 1 of a series and I'm sorry to say that I will NOT finish reading this series. I just don't care, that's how bad it was.

I wished she would have just written on larger book than breaking it into several smaller parts. The overall story was good but it did seemed rushed. I don't think I will be buying the other parts since she could have developed the story and characters more.

    Don't waste your time

I enjoyed the twists in this story. This is the second book of Sicily Yoder's I have read. I enjoyed the storyline. It had twists and turns which I wasn't expecting. I knew going into reading this book that other volumes followed it, so to get the whole picture I will purchase the other parts of the story. Yet, with what Ms. Yoder provides here it was enough to keep me turning the pages and I let out a gasp at the end.

Good storyline but I can't stand the way that every time an Amish word is said it's italicized. Maybe the first time so the reader knows its not just a typo but not every time! The story line didn't really pick up though until the very end of the book. Until the last 2 pages, I couldn't wait for this book to be over. Now I'm curious as to what will happen in the next book but not curious enough to read it with the irritating italicized Amish words throughout.

This was a nice short read. It had great potential, but I felt like it moved to fast and did not give enough time to build up. When I read a book, I like to feel connected with the characters and like I am part of the story. I did not get that while reading this book. Even though it left on a cliff hanger, I find that I am not interested in how it all plays out.

Read excerpt from volume one Amish blizzardsI read the excerpt, a lot of info, I don't understand why authors give excerpt from their books? Just offer the full book, I'm new to the kindle world and amazon books, so I'm learning to check page amounts. hopefully I will read the full story soon

PoorThis book cut off just as it was getting into the plot. Very disappointed. You can purchase the remainder, however i would not waste my money on this sequels maybe they all end in the start of the plot.

The book was good I love Amish story's this I read them fast but this one I read This book was really good it covered a lot more interesting things it was over before I was ready

  • Dor Brooks

I read to the end of the book and said I have to wait till Feb but soon realzied that it was last year. I found it intriguing the way the author wrote the circumsances in the youth's life and the woman who couldn't conceive I would recommend it

This is NOT a book -- it's the first of a "series". It was all over the place. Here's a nice Amish boy who leavesr a BIKER "gang". I managed to get through this thing because it was short. Will I read the rest of the series? Absolutely not.

  • Eileen Carter

The beginningHind sight is 20 / 20 or so they say. Rachael is surely regretting her tune during her time of fun during get rumshrepra.

  • April

  • Paula

can't wait to read more of the series

  • Angela

It was OK. I found it hard to read due to the grammar/editing errors but I thought the storyline was good. I would finish the series to find out what happens to everyone.

  • Anne

Great short story. Looking forward to part 2. Will leave my final review of the series when I have read the whole series.
