The last person she expects to see on her first shift is Carson Scott. He and he's brothers drop in for a bite to eat. Carson is just as surprised to Annie. When Carson Scott walked into the café for his usual Wednesday night fare with his brothers, he didn’t expect the new waitress to be Annie Prudhomme. Annie was a past love, but a lot of water had gone under that bridge – he had married, had a son he adored, and lost his wife to a dreadful car accident all in those intervening years. Annie had ventured back to her home town as she had nowhere else to go – after a bitter divorce from her husband had cost her everything, she decided she woul [...]

The story is cliched and rushed and the characters are flat. I swear I've read this exact same story, only better, several times before. It was also too explicitly sexual for my tastes, especially in a Christmas romance.

In A Cowboy For Christmas by Katherine Garbera, Annie never expected to come back to Marietta, the small town she left in the dust years ago. When the life Annie has worked to build after leaving Marietta crumbles and leaves her humiliated, broke and alone, she heads back to Marietta to pick up the pieces again. Staying in the run down old family home and working in the cafe, it is inevitable she will run into Carson. Because all those years ago it was not only Marietta Annie left in the dust, i [...]

The basic story is Annie and Carson used to be an item, but then she left him brokenhearted when she moved away. Now she is back, and there is still that attraction between them, but will she stay this time Carson seems like a great guy. He was married, but his wife died in a car accident a number of years ago. In Katherine Garbera's A Cowboy for Christmas, Annie Prudhomme is back in Marietta, Montana. Fifteen years ago, she couldn't get out of town fast enough, no matter who she hurt or left behind. Now, with nowhere else to go, she is back. Carson Scott is the cowboy she left behind. He moved on, married and had a son, though, tragically, he lost his wife to an accident while his son, Evan, was still and infant. Carson Scott had his heart broken at 18 when Annie Prudhomme left Marietta, Montana and never looked back. Fifteen years later he's astounded to see her working as a waitress at the local diner. Seeing her brings back all the feelings he had and he wonders if they ever went away. Is Annie back for good and can he somehow manage to keep his heart this time?I'm a big fan of the trope second time love. On reading the blurb, I didn't think I was going to a big Annie fan but once I started reading an [...]

A Cowboy for Christmas by Katherine Garbera was a delight to read. I love Christmas stories! This was my first Garbera book and it certainly won’t be the last. Annie and Carson have a history, and during the fifteen years they have been apart they have both lost so much. Can they move on from the past and give each other another chance? Can Annie forgive herself for the bridges she burned when she hightailed it out of Marietta; and can she mend the relationships and the people she hurt? Can Ca [...]

2.5 starsI'm a sucker for a good Christmas romance and I wanted to like this story more than I actually did. I liked the hero, the titular cowboy, Carson Scott. I would have liked to have more about Carson and his little boy, Evan, in the story. The focus of the story, though, was Annie, who has returned home to Marietta, MT because she has nowhere else to go and nothing to call her own but her dog, a bag of clothes, a car, and the old family ranch.I'm not crazy about authors who feel the need t [...]

A book full of Christmas miracles. For as long as Annie Prudhomme could remember, she would dream of the day she could leave Marietta, Montana. She was a young girl with big city dreams. She has been gone 15 years. What she didn't expect was to move away and to marry to a con man who would leave her penniless in the end. Returning home to live at her family home, she gets a job at the diner in town where she sees her old love Carson Scott. Could a cowboy get any more handsome then he was when he [...]

The next two books as well as this one, you’ll notice, are written by three different authors, but are a part of Montana Born series and is a Copper Mountain Christmas story. This started off as a bittersweet story, but the more I read and got to know Annie and Carson, the more I liked them. These two had a lot of history between them before Annie up and married someone else leaving her home town. It’s fifteen years later and she is back in town to pick up the pieces of her life and try to reb [...]

A Cowboy For Christmas is a Copper Mountain Christmas novella set in the town of Marietta, Montana. This book is a story of two former flames reconnecting. At 18 Annie wanted better things and left Marietta swearing she would never return leaving behind Carson her old flame. Now 15 years later Annie is back in Marietta at Christmas time because she had no-where else to go other than her family home there in Marietta due to her now ex-husband's Ponzi scheming and the FBI confiscating everything. What a wonderful Christmas story of second chances and fresh starts. This is the first story by Katherine Garbera I have read but I loved the way she showed the turmoil our own emotions and thoughts can put us through. Annie is so lost and so hard on herself and trying to figure out how to start her life over again in the town she said she would never go back to. Carson is just trying to live his life and raising his son alone after the death of his wife years earlier. His son wants a mommy for [...]

Annie dreams of the big city life and making something of her self. Carson is content in Marietta and knows what he wants in life. Annie thinks she knows what will make her happy and that thinking causes her world to fall apart. Annie needs something to ground her and is Carson the answer? Will Annie learn to trust her heart vs her perception of happiness. I really enjoyed reading about Annie and Carson, and Annie learning to trust her intuition.

Montanaborn books has another winner on their hands. Katherine Garbera writes a story of first loves, found again. Annie comes back home crushed by life and circumstances not of her making to find her first love a widower with a son . Sparks fly the first time Carson and Annie reconnect. Once she realizes that she is done running, they can both embrace their hearts desires and become the family they were always meant to be.

A sweet novella about second chances for both Carson (widowed) and Annie (divorced), some soul searching and a Christmas miracle. These two reunite after loss and heartache over the past years. Will they be able to rekindle a love they once had? I enjoyed the the small town romance, the close family ties and holiday traditions. The story has a great voice and realistic feel. I received an ARC for my honest opinion and I'm excited to read more of the Copper Mountain Christmas Novellas!

A wonderful Christmas story. The story of Carson and Annie with a history from 15 years. They both need to realize that "You can't keep looking back and wishing things to change". Plus, can there be a Christmas Miracle. This is great addition to the Copper Mountain books. Grab a blanket, a cup of hot chocolate and some Christmas cookies for good read.

  • The Bookish Chick

A wonderful Christmas story about forgiveness, second chances and learning to love yourself. I really, really enjoyed Carson and Annie's story. I like the growth each goes through, how they try to handle their inner selfs and I especially loved watching their barriers fall as lev makes a spot in their hearts. A heart warming read that will help keep you warm and toasty :)
